Sicilian Deep Dish Pizza & Grandma Pie

Unlike a traditional pizza, both our Sicilian pizza, our Grandma Pie are in the shape of a square. The Sicilian pie has a thick crust and the Grandma Pie has a medium crust. Sal’s Sicilian deep dish pizza uses our traditional pizza sauce, whereas the sauce on our Grandma Pie is cooked in a secret and meticulously tested way because it gives more depth of flavor.

Brooklyn Style Pizza

In addition to Sicilian deep dish pizza and Grandma style pizza, Sal’s also specializes in Brooklyn style pizza, which is made using a combination of our handmade mozzarella and our house mozzarella blend and is topped with oregano and parmesan before being cooked in the oven. Brooklyn style pizza is often used for both NY style pizza and Grandma style pizza.

The story behind the original Sal's Pizzeria was that it was founded by Matt Darienzo, after his father-in-law Sal and his tasty pizza. Our first location was a big success so he thought, “Why not expand and open a second location?!” That’s when our second location near Ladera Ranch opened up.
